Sustainable Efforts at Twin Dolphin

The Twin Dolphin master plan’s single owner-developer, Ohana Real Estate Investors , put sustainability and conservation at the forefront of the community’s design. Using thought-leading sustainable systems, Twin Dolphin Club works to minimize its carbon footprint and reliance on municipalities. Built environments are positioned to fold seamlessly into the natural landscape, smart systems and natural cooling techniques work to conserve energy, and an onsite plant nursery — established prior to grading the entire site — has preserved more than 40,000 plants on the property.

Solar Energy with Tesla

Twin Dolphin’s new energy system leverages Tesla solar panels and battery energy storage systems to provide clean energy and back-up power throughout the master-planned community, allowing it to run completely off-grid upon completion. Tesla Powerhub’s monitoring platform also manages and optimizes energy use and help inform future decisions via data tracking.

Audubon Certification

Twin Dolphin Club is designated as a Certified Bronze Audubon International Signature Sanctuary—the only golf course in Mexico to achieve such recognition. This prestigious certification verifies sustainable design, construction, and long-term management of golf courses, communities, and resorts.

History

Twin Dolphin Club’s sprawling expanse was once home to the former iconic Hotel Twin Dolphin, one of the first luxury hotels in all of Los Cabos. Opened in 1977 by Texas oilman, David J. Halliburton Sr., Hotel Twin Dolphin was renowned as the finest in seaside luxury and only accessible by private plane or yacht.

This hidden gem soon served as a private hideaway for Hollywood luminaries like Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby and even John Wayne — who built his own airstrip on what is now Twin Dolphin Club’s Fred Couples Signature golf course. Today, you can still see remnants of the old air strip and feel the spirit of its celebrated past.

With a passion and talent for delivering magical family experiences complemented by the utmost in genuine service, Armando brings a wealth of knowledge to Twin Dolphin. Prior to joining the team, Armando worked with The Ritz-Carlton for over 20 years, honing his craft at properties across the United States and Caribbean.

Eric Romero

Club Director, Twin Dolphin Club

Eric has over 15 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge working in some of the most exclusive properties in the world. At Twin Dolphin, he plays an integral role in crafting unique experiences for members, from memorable golf tournaments to unforgettable events.

John Purvis

Chief Financial Officer, Twin Dolphin

John has served as a key leader in the development of the Twin Dolphin master-planned community since 2014. He manages all aspects of the Club’s finance functions, as well as oversees all legal matters, human resources, information technology, risk management, HOA administration, and more.

Nathan Tucker

Director of Development, Twin Dolphin

Nathan joined Ohana in 2012 and is responsible for all design and construction activities for developer product. With over a decade of development experience in Mexico, he has helped launch an in-house construction company for Ohana and also spearheads sustainability initiatives for Twin Dolphin.

Russel Hewitt

Golf Superintendent, Twin Dolphin Club

Russ has overseen Twin Dolphin Club’s golf course from start to finish, and now oversees operations of the golf course and surrounding landscape. With over 20 years of experience in golf maintenance, Russ has held positions at some of the world’s most esteemed and exclusive courses.

Garrett Payton

Head Golf Professional, Twin Dolphin Club

Garret brings a keen eye and passion for the game, all while creating unique and challenging golfing experiences to members and guests. Prior to joining Twin Dolphin Club, Garrett studied at the University of Idaho, and then honed his expertise working at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana, and Peninsula Golf Club in Port Angeles, Washington.

José García

Director of Operations, Residential Services

José joined Maravilla in 2014 and serves as Director of Operations of the Residential Services team to achieve the highest standard of service and home administration for our members, ensuring memorable moments for both members and guests. José graduated from Cornell University in 2001 with a master’s degree in hospitality management.

Neil Johnson

Managing Director, Development

Neil is responsible for business development, representing Ohana’s residential offering with owners, buyers, partners and press. He also represents Ohana as the ownership group in developer sales transactions, sets inventory and pricing, and oversees legal and contracts administration.

Soren Olsen

President, Ohana Realty

Soren is an integral member of the sales team focused on Maravilla Los Cabos. Her responsibilities include implementing and executing sales strategies, developing and maintaining affluent client and broker relationships, and managing sales team members to deliver sales results.

Anna Ruby

Director, Development

Anna leads and manages the Design Services business, overseeing all interior design initiatives with a focus on Maravilla Los Cabos. Her responsibilities include visionary direction and business growth strategy, as well as overseeing all interior design projects to ensure homeowner expectations are exceeded.
